From Research to Commercial Success: Salicrop's Global Expansion After Four Years of Breakthrough Trials

After four years of rigorous trials, including remarkable successes in Spain, Salicrop has transitioned from research to full-scale commercial operations. We are now proudly supplying our enhanced seeds to approximately 1,100 hectares worldwide, marking a significant milestone in our mission to revolutionize agriculture.

Salinity stress is a major threat to agricultural productivity and food security, often resulting in stunted plant growth, poor crop quality, and reduced yields. In response, Salicrop has pioneered cutting-edge technology that boosts the yield and quality of processing tomatoes, even under extreme salinity and heat stress conditions.

In 2022, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Innovation Authority, we conducted extensive field trials on 25 hectares in the Beit Shean Valley, northern Israel—a region notorious for its warm, dry climate, saline irrigation water, and salty soils. The results were groundbreaking: our seed enhancement technology significantly improved key indicators such as seed germination, seedling establishment, crop development, and overall yield under stress conditions. The enhanced seeds not only produced substantial biomass but also improved water transpiration, increased pest and disease resistance, and strengthened detachment tissue, leading to a 15% increase in average commercial yield.

Building on these proven successes, Salicrop is now expanding its reach, supplying enhanced seeds to farmers across the globe. By addressing the challenges of climate change head-on, we are ensuring sustainable agricultural productivity and helping secure the future of global food supply.
